THIRD PARTY PLUG-IN SUPPORT

Poker Pal now offers full third-party plug-in support. This means that third-party developers can add extra features to the main program by creating plug-ins for it. Here's how it works:

Poker Pal loads all known plug-ins at start up. Once the user starts playing, Poker Pal passes all the relevant game information to each plug-in on-the-fly in real time. Examples of the information sent to the plug-ins are:

• Known (visible) cards including the user's hole cards and any visible board cards.
• All player names in the hand.
• Notification of when a player is selected to act.
• Notification of player actions and any amounts involved.
• Notification of when a new game starts.
• Notification of when a game ends.
• Notification of Poker Pal calculation results.

Plug-ins work just like regular Windows DLL files but have a "PX5" extension. If you can write a Windows DLL then you can write a Poker Pal plug-in.

USES OF PLUG-INS
There are some things we strictly cannot allow third party developers to create including "robot" play and anything that shares hole card information over a network. In fact, anything that would violate any of the online Poker room's rules cannot be allowed. Each developer must register their plug-in with us so that we can have Poker Pal register it as a valid plug-in to load at start up. Poker Pal will not load non-registered plug-ins - this is to ensure that the above guidelines are followed.
  Some examples of great plug-in ideas would be:

• Statistical charts and graphs
• Poker play analysis
• Any other useful feature that the main Poker Pal program doesn't already have.

If you develop a great plug-in that could be useful to the thousands of existing Poker Pal users, we would be happy to help you market your creation by including a demo of your plug-in with Poker Pal downloads and possibly informing existing registered users.
